Bajra

I have used macro mode with slight zoom to get this shallow DOF effect.

Bajra (millet) is a major crop in South India. On our way to Wayanad, on NH 212 (I strongly recommend taking this route. There are two other routes but the roads are bad and NH 212 passes through Bandipur National Park. It's an amazing drive!), we passed through fields full of Bajra.

We were travelling in Kerala on the Independence day and twice people stopped our car and offered us payasam. I thought it's some marriage first time, but later it dawned on me. Payasam, quite famous sweet dish of Kerala, is made by millet seeds.

UPDATE: Another picture from the same millet farm is kept here. This one is more close up.

Great colors!
It might enhance the pic if you cropped it a little bit from the right to remove the out-of-focus millet flower/seed :)
